The Centres for Excellence provide an important learning and development resource in their specialised fields. These Centres enable the development of evidence-based practice, the application of critical methods of learning, enquiry and practice development in order to enhance the capacity, knowledge and skills in each specialised field. 5	Criminal Justice Social Work Development Centre for Scotland The Criminal Justice Social Work Development Centre for Scotland assists in the development and implementation of evidence based practice in Scotland.
