STRADA - Scottish Training on Drugs and Alcohol

STRADA currently offers three academic programmes, taught and accredited by the University of Glasgow.  The programmes are aimed at professionals seeking to gain an academic qualification relevant to the Addictions field. Please see below for further details:

Certificate of Higher Education: Drug & Alcohol Practice

*Please note that the application deadline for the 2010-2011 programme has now passed.  

Fee: £1820 for session 2009/10 (*subject to change in 2010-11)

Currently, STRADA are unable to offer funded places for this programme of study.  However, there are three separate organisations that may provide significant financial assistance to successful candidates.  These are; the Society for the Study of Addiction, Alcohol Education and Research Council* and ILA Scotland.  Please click on the links for further information, or telephone Steven Kendrick on 0141 330 2400.

Postgraduate Certificate in Leadership of Drug and Alcohol Services

*Please note that the application deadline for the 2010-2011 programme has now passed.

Fee: £1416 (£472 per 20 credit course) for session 2010-11

Funded places are available for specific services in Scotland. These are:

  • Housing and Homelessness Services
  • Prison Services
  • Statutory Social Care Services
  • Statutory Health Care Services including GP Practices and Pharmacists
  • Specialist Drug and Alcohol Services
  • Voluntary Services working with drug and alcohol misusers

Fees are applicable for all other services including:

  • Education Services
  • Employment Services
  • Police Services
